Allergen Policy
At SUPERKEEN we produce all our products with the utmost care to ensure they are safe for you to enjoy. Parts of the SUPERKEEN range is especially designed to cater for allergen-aware diets. As such we carry out extensive risk assessment and/or testing regarding the following allergens:
Gluten
We have a dedicated, gluten free production facilities. Our gluten free products comply with the gluten limit of less than 20ppm.
We continually review our allergen labelling and always ensure this is clear on our products to give you a transparent view of what’s inside.
Nuts
Our manufacturing facilities is a nut free site. This term is used to indicate that all nuts (both tree nuts and peanuts) are strictly prohibited in the entire area of land occupied by the business and under our control, including car park, canteen and factory offices. This means there are no nuts or nut-containing products on site.
Other allergens
We carry out a full risk assessment for raw materials with regards to all 14 recognised allergens listed in the Food Information for Consumers Regulation (EU).
These allergens are:
- Cereals containing gluten; namely wheat (such as spelt and khorasan wheat), rye, barley, oats
- Crustaceans; for example prawns, crabs, lobster, crayfish
- Eggs
- Fish
- Peanuts
- Soybeans
- Milk (including lactose)
- Nuts; namely almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecan nuts, Brazil nuts, pistachio nuts, macadamia (or Queensland) nuts
- Celery (including celeriac)
- Mustard
- Sesame
- Sulphur dioxide/sulphites
- Lupin, which includes lupin seeds and flour
- Mollusc for example clams, mussels, whelks, oysters, snails and squid
